"Experience Your America'' is firstly an initiative by the National Park Service, incentivizing visitation to this country's National Parks. This series is in response to the National Park’s initiative, and examines one aspect of experiencing America: through the lens of our mobile devices. Though increased access to photographic methods enables collective commemoration, there is an expectation to record incessantly, often with little regard to substance or motive. When hyper-focused on documenting, often the most important aspects of “Experiencing” can be neglected.

The lack of focus on subjects in the foreground draws the eye to the landscape looming in the background, but still the viewer is reminded of the imposition and forced to accept the interruption within the landscape. Subjects are intentionally out-of-focus and blurred, but remain an integral component to the reality of tourism today.
